A Tribute to the Constitution (Sunday, July 4th, from 7:00 to 8:30pm)

Sunday, July 4th at the Civic Auditorium in Idaho Falls. Pre-show begins at 6:45 and program begins at 7:00 pm. No charge.

Each Sunday before July 4th we expand our understanding of America's founding principles in a special tribute to the Constitution and to war veterans. WE ARE FORTUNATE THIS YEAR BECAUSE THE 4TH OF JULY IS ON A SUNDAY! This is an evening of inspirational music, theatrical performance, and short and inspiring speeches. This is a non-denominational and non-partisan program so every person who is an American and loves this country is invited and encouraged to come and participate.

THIS YEAR'S guest speaker is Federal Judge Ted Stewart. Judge Stewart is the co-author of the book "Seven Miracles that Saved America."

 The 2010 program outline:

~ Pre-show, Video presentation honoring soldiers currently serving around the world (from GCS Distributing)
~ Master of Ceremonies: Mark Richardson from Probing America talk show
~ Flag ceremony: by the Veterans of Foreign War, National Guard, and Boy Scouts of America
~ National Anthem
~ Speech: A young man preparing to enter the Air Force academy
~ America's Hope Children's Choir singing "We're The Hope of America"
~ Theatrical re-enactment of Patrick Henry's famous "Give Me Liberty of Give Give Me Death" orator
~ Musical performance by Syncopation
~ Veteran Speaker, George Marriott, veteran of the Korean war
~ Special tribute to all veterans who defended and protect our Constitution with Bagpipes playing Amazing Grace
~ Song: "God Bless America, Again," written by Dianna Casperson and performed at the National Day of Prayer in Washington D.C.
~ Feature speaker: Judge Brian Theodore Stewart
~ A non-denominational community choir will perform the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Our commonalities are in our love of our country. All Americans of all denominations and faiths will blend their voices in this anthem of prayer. Please come and sing with us.

(We will sing the Battle Hymn of the Republic, a song most of us know. Please contact Atina Coates at 656-0235. Rehearsals are Sunday evenings, the June 20th and 27th at 7:00pm at the First Lutheran church located at 455 West Sunnyside Road (on the corner of Sunnyside and Roulendette). Cost: No Charge
Place: Civic Auditorium (Located at 501 South Holmes, next to the Idaho Falls High School and is handicap accessible.
Dress: Patriotic colors or Sunday Dress if possible.

Celebration of Liberty is non-denominational. No religious doctrine from any sect will be taught. References to Deity will be restricted to the actual words of the Founders.
