About Celebration of Liberty PDF Print E-mail

The Celebration of Liberty had its first appearance in July 2006. We are all volunteers and donate our time and talents to make these events a reality without personal gain. Our only motivation is our love for liberty and the enjoyment of living in a society that encourages responsibility and accountability and opportunity through hard work. We honor the free-will of every person and encourage the advocacy of self-evident truths. Through our programs we provide opportunities for people to understand the principles that our Founding Fathers relied upon to frame the bedrock and structure of this great nation. History affirms that people who are educated about, and live, self-evident principles are a free and peaceful people.

This organization is funded by private donations from individuals, corporations, and organizations.

Like the founders, we affiliate with no political party. Indeed, as Washington once said in his farewell address, "There is nothing I dread so much as a division of the Republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader and converting measures in opposition to each other. This my humble apprehension, is to be, dreaded as the greatest political evil under the Constitution." Washington believed that such parties  would only fracture the nation and "...render alien each other those who ought to be bound together by fraternal affection." Thus, although this is a republic, there was no intention in Washington's thought to have a republican party, nor a democratic party, nor a democracy. Our desire is to unite people by presenting correct principles and the opportunity to adhere to self-evident truths. For this reason we receive no money from a political organization nor give money to them.

We honor those brave individuals who have sacrificed, and do now sacrifice, to make this the land of the free.

We emphasize the responsibility to become involved in the government.

We prescribe no particular course of action, we provide the principles, or opportunities to learn them, and honor the free exercise of choice regarding what others will do with the information.

Any mentions of deity are in the spirit the founders intended. We are a group from various belief systems, but we unite to rekindle and renew the love of liberty in all people. As far as we can tell, the founders did not preach any specific denominational doctrine, but they did call upon God—or Providence as they often often called it—for direction in their affairs. We follow their example and do the same
.

Nobody on our committees receive remuneration for their hundreds of hours of work. Unfortunately, there are materials and services that are not be donated. Therefore, although we as a committee do not receive monetary gain, others we hire for services are paid.

In order to continue to provide these educational opportunities, we need financial support. If you would like to see these events to continue and believe in our mission, PLEASE DONATE. Every dollar is just one step closer to helping us continue to provide these educational programs and pave the way for more youth to prepare for to become leaders and attend college. Thank you for your support.
